Mount Lard is an infamous squishy mountain known to the Gooptar Kingdom denizens in legends, where it has a reputation of being horrible beyond all reason and completely unclimbable. They are actually unaware that the mountain is actually the body of a morbidly-obese, mountain-sized creature called Gourmonster.
Goop and King Grex, after escaping the Frightening Forest, fall off a cliff supposedly to their doom, only to land at the squishy and bouncy foot of the mountain. Goop quickly realizes what the mountain is from childhood stories told to him by Marco and begins to think they should turn back. However, the two end up scaling the massive creature, only to encounter the creature's head and engage in battle with it.
